Work Summary:

The 3rd largest building in Pittsburgh, One Oxford Centre, wanted a facelift for the 37 year old tower.  The first four floors of the building were fully renovated.  Clista incorporated many new features in the building.  First, an elaborate chandelier is showcased within the atrium.  Next, we replaced the lobby lighting and controls on the 1st and 2nd floors along with the elevator lighting for floors 1-4.  Clista incorporated high end finishes and fixtures in the executive conference rooms.  We installed over 400′ of linear tape light to highlight the edges of the building along with all new exterior down lights to illuminate the patio area in front.  In addition, the existing control panels, monitors and annunciators were relocated to a new security desk.  To finish out the project, we provided back lighting for six interior signs and supplied new power and fixtures for two exterior signs.

Greatest Challenges:

  • Renovating the lobbies in a fully occupied building
  • A lot of the work had to be done at night and on weekends
  • We had to have all of the lights either existing, new, or temporary back on by 7 am every morning
  • Supplying and installing (5) 30′ long decorative fixtures that suspended from the 4th floor ceiling
  • The anchor point of these fixtures was over 50′ off the 1st floor level
  • Special lifts and engineering had to be used to install the fixtures
  • It took 28 drivers and 28 DMX controllers to pull the project off
  • Finding a location that could house this much equipment and allow for future maintenance
