Clista Electric worked in conjunction with Mascaro Construction Company, L.P., on this unique project that provided critical backup for one of the top Pittsburgh hospitals. This was a complicated project that consisted of replacing a 6-Megawatt generator system which was overloaded and obsolete. There were approximately 40,000 ft. of two-hour fire rated Mineral Insulated cable installed for all emergency feeders. The challenges, which included tight restrictions, coordinating outages with the hospital and keeping the existing backup system completely operational throughout the duration of the construction, earned the project the 2023 Building Excellence Award for Renovation Construction.
