Project Summary:

CMU Robotics is utilizing a space at Mill 19, a former steel mill located on the 178-acre Hazelwood Green Site.  It was once owned by J&L Steel Hazelwood Works and LTV Steel, and it is the last riverfront brownfield within city limits.  Non profit group Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM), Manufacturing Future Initiatives (MFI), and Catalyst Connection are major tenants in this shared space.

Clista completed an interior fit out within the original steel skeleton.  On the first and second floors, we installed collaborative work spaces and a high bay.  In order to support the offices, we installed all essential power system components.

Greatest Challenge:

  • Maintain industrial heritage of the building including high ceilings and open areas through careful illumination
